Runway raises $5.3B; Ambience deepens; Copilot gains GPT-5.3-Codex

More than a quiet week after all: Runway raises $315M for world models, Ambience pushes clinical AI toward the full patient record, and GPT-5.3-Codex reaches GitHub Copilot.

The app layer kept shipping across video, healthcare, and coding.

Runway raises $315M at a $5.3B valuation

On February 10, AI-video company Runway raised a $315M Series E at a $5.3B valuation (led by General Atlantic, with NVIDIA, Adobe Ventures, and AMD Ventures), earmarked for next-generation "world models" — following its Gen 4.5 video model. The generative-video race is now a well-capitalized one.

Ambience deepens clinical AI

On February 12, Ambience Healthcare expanded "Chart Awareness" so its documentation AI factors in the full longitudinal patient record — prior notes, labs, imaging, meds — rather than just the current encounter. Vertical agents win by going deeper into the real workflow.

GPT-5.3-Codex reaches Copilot

On February 9, OpenAI's agentic GPT-5.3-Codex became generally available inside GitHub Copilot — new models increasingly land in developers' editors within days.

Ecosystem note

OpenAI also began retiring GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, and o4-mini from ChatGPT (February 13) — a reminder to check what your tools deprecate, not just what they launch.
